APPLEUMPKIN FESTIVAL STREET CLOSURES
October 10 - 12, 2014
The following streets will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, October 10, 2014, and continuing through Sunday evening, October 12, 2014:
* 100 block of S. Ottawa St.
In addition, the northeast parking lot will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, October 10.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening, October 10, 2014, and continuing through Sunday evening, October 12, 2014, these blocks will be closed:
* 100 block of S. Evans St.
* 200 block of N. Ottawa St., including intersection at East Logan St.
* 300 block of N. Ottawa St., including intersection of E. Shawnee St.
Also Friday afternoon, October 10, at 3:30 p.m., the outside lane and parking lanes on M-50 between Pearl St. and Oneida St. will be closed.
The 100 block of N. Pearl St. will be closed beginning Saturday morning, October 11 at 6:00 a.m. These closures will remain in effect until Sunday evening.
An emergency lane will be maintained through the street closures at all times. Motorists are encouraged to use the remaining parking lots to reduce on-street traffic congestion in the area. Please keep in mind that the southeast parking lot will only be accessible from the East Pottawatamie St. entrance.
Additional parking will be available at Tecumseh High School with a free shuttle to the downtown festival area. The shuttle stop will be located at the corner of South Pearl St. and Chicago Blvd. and will run approximately every 10 to 15 minutes. We would like to encourage visitors to park at the high school and use this convenient service.
If there are any questions, you may contact the Department of Public Works at 423-1443 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The leaves are falling from the trees, the morning air has a certain crispness to it, this can only mean one thing in Lenawee County; it's time for Tecumseh's Appleumpkin Festival.
You'll want to bring the whole gang to town for this one. The kids will enjoy the midway rides, carnival games, inflatables and make-it-take-it crafts.
The Antique Street Fair and Flea Market will keep you captivated for hours.
The Arts & Crafts Show brings wonderfully handcrafted creations into Tecumseh.
Do you need a scarecrow for your front lawn? Well you're in luck, you can make your very own at the Appleumpkin Festival downtown. That's right, spend a little quality fun time with your family, and craft your own scarecrow, all for free! You'll find everything you need under the Make-it-Take-it Scarecrow Tent.
Looking for live entertainment? Stop by the Appleumpkin stage area on Pearl Street and take in the live performances. There is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend.
All this fun is sure to work up an appetite. Good thing we invited so many of your favorite fair food vendors to town for the weekend. Want to sit down and rest a spell? Our Tecumseh restaurants are ready to serve you a delicious meal while you relax.

A FREE parking is available in and around the Downtown area as well as at Tecumseh High School Shuttle on the westend of town. A FREE shuttle service is available to transport festival goers Downtown and to the Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival.
Tecumseh's Appleumpkin Festival is held in conjunction with Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival. You can take a short drive out to the apple orchard and enjoy fresh apples, cider and donuts.
