It's spring cleaning time... time to clean out the closets... move things out of the garage and make space in your home. And it just so happens, you're in luck, it's time for Tecumseh's Citywide Garage Sale! So dust off those old treasures, sort thru those clothes you haven't worn in ages and put them out to sell! Tecumseh Pickers will be anxiously waiting to see what special bargains they can find during the sales which will run May 2-4 throughout Tecumseh.

Again for 2013! This year you can participate in the Citywide Garage Sale PERMIT FREE. That's right! There will be no permits required for the 3-day event. You may run your sale from May 2-4, 2013 starting at 9 am until the closing time you desire. Maps will be provided for garage sale shoppers and will be available at Tecumseh Big Boy, any Perky Pantry and Tecumseh City Hall. The list will also be available on the City's web page at mytecumseh.org. As a picker please note not all sales run all three days and new sales will start daily.

If you wish to have your address and the dates of your sale listed on the map and posted on the City website you should email your information (address & dates) to Denine Wells at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 424-6544 by Thursday, April 25th to assure your information will be included. Please note the map will only include addresses within the city limits.

Some helpful suggestions for those of you holding a garage sale.

Some Good Advice:

  • Several garage sales on a street bring many buyers, so encourage your neighbors to participate.

  • Make sure your yards and walkways are free of holes and debris that might be a trip hazard.

  • City allows only one sign per property, even during this sale.

  • Appleumpkin Scarecrow Committee Needs Clothes for Scarecrows! After the sale weekend please consider donating your clothing items to be repurposed into scarecrows for the Appleumpkin Festival. Clothing may be dropped off at the Main Branch of United Bank and Trust. Please contact: Shelly Jeffrey at 517-423-1788 for details.
