"Through the Doors of Tecumseh... Enter Our Past" is the theme for the 40th Annual Promenade Tecumseh Home Tour. Visitors will enjoy touring local homes during this two-day event from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Live entertainment will be featured at many of the locations throughout the weekend.
Start your day Saturday at the Tecumseh Fire Department's Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. They are also planning an Open House, survival flight helicopter landing at 9:30 am (weather permitting) and kid's water games from 10:00 am to Noon. The Fire Department is located at 101 E. 2016 Promenade Tecumseh tour locations are as follows: 9159 Clinton-Macon Rd., 302 W. Pottawatamie, 502 W. Chicago Blvd., 9561 Carson Hwy. and 309 W. Pottawatamie St. Residents will open their homes for visitors to enjoy. In addition, The Palmer Block (the former Eagles Building) at 125 South Evans St. will be on tour as an "in progess" site as construction begins on the renovation project.
The First Presbyterian Church is celebrating the 150th anniversary of when the building was constructed they are located at 211 W. Chicago Blvd. Be cure to stop by and visit this beautiful church. The Carnegie Artist Studios at 304 W. Chicago Blvd. are included on the tour as well. Tickets are not needed for these two locations.
